Grandchildren on vacation
Tallia has some new playmates for a couple weeks.
Makinze and Valerie are staying with us while Ben and Rachel try to get into a house in Washington.
Tallia giving grandpa the stink eye.
Water colors kept them busy for an hour.
I just love the sailor cap.
Makinze got BB gun lessons and plinked a bunch of cans.

Another Iron Bed
I built another steel bed for Brad.
I had it done before he got home.
It is a double bed painted antique metal flake bronze.
The head board resembles a famous sign found in Nevada.
Our fly by summer.
It is going by fast. Like my lack of ability to remember important dates.
First on the blog is my Birthday card to Benton.
Cruz night at Arby's
And the concert on the river (every Tuesday night).
The entertainment was The Old Time Fiddlers.
As you can see, Val was quick to give the performance a review. The two older people in front
of her were totally enjoying the program because the music was specific to their time.

American West Backdrop
It's in our blood, enjoying our freedom in the North West.
The old west colliding with today's technology.
Brutal winters ingrain a sense of high regard for Summer.
Spot on.
Close enough!

Once in a lifetime
A Ford Tri Motor lands in Idaho Falls.
I heard this airplane lumbering over the house. So I went out on the back deck and caught a glimpse of it in the distance landing at the airport. I am glad I drove over, this is a once in a lifetime unscheduled event.
It has an oil pressure problem. They pulled it in a hanger to fix it. But not before I got some pictures.
You can probably look this airplane up on the internet and get it's history from the call numbers.
NC9645
This is a passenger plane. the rich traveled in these. And Indiana Jones.
It is going in the hanger for repair.
BIG SCORE DAY!!! Brought to me by the Magic of Summer.

July 4th on the back deck
Not much bang for the buck. Our 4th of July celebrations are pyrotechnic pathetic. We sat on the deck family & friends and reminisced those explosive days past. Chad and Brad did get out the old cannon, loaded it with RED DOT and lit it off. It rattled all the windows in the neighborhood. It was a symbolic gesture informing the surrounding area that the ember is sill alive at the Russell house.
Will made it through the fireworks display with energy to spare.
Tallia was a close 2nd but dropped off before the fireworks (which was good because they scare her).
Brad got home on Thursday.
This was a bonus for the kids, they got swimming pool rides.
The BBQ was great, with pork ribs/beef and turkey burgers/roasted sweet potatoes/chipotle pasta salad
fries dough/chips&salsa/vegetable tray/potato salad/watermelon and more.
We were well represented with great grandmothers to tiny babies.
We were well represented with great grandmothers to tiny babies.
And we also had the pointers getting their point across.
We can file this 4th away in the GOOD LIFE DRAWER.
