People often ask me if I cut Augusta's hair this way....NOPE!  She is naturally this awesome.  Some have asked from whom she gets this gossamer mane.....who knows?

A Perfect Day

Last Saturday Granny, Sam, Will, Ben, and I took a drive. We visited these charcoal kilns, Meadow Lake, and the ranch in Leadore. We shot guns and then stopped for a bite to eat at Yesterday's Caf-A. The weather was perfect, Will was content, and Granny showed us where she spent a good part of her life working her butt off! I know Mom and Dad took us to the ranch when we were little but I do not remember it so it was cool to put images to stories in my mind. That country is just so beautiful!
F@#% that!

Inside the kiln of death!

Back at square one

Here is the new prop:

It is a nylon composite reinforced with fiberglass. I got it from Piranha.com which you may visit if you'd like more information than I'll offer here. The biggest advantage (other than resisting deformation during "propeller strike") is the fact that the blades are independently replaceable for about $20.00 a pop. You can see the separation lines in the last picture. This way, if I wreck a blade or two (or perhaps even three), I'm only out $40-$60 rather than $100+ for a new aluminum prop or $300+ for a new stainless prop. I'll continue to update this process as we break it in (no pun intended). And now a promotional video:

This is a video of the piranha gang running over a log with both a metal prop and their composite prop to show off how cool it is. I don't know about you but, after that video, I'm just itchin' to find me a big log chained to the bottom of the lake...

Rockin with Dad at The Last Frontier

Hey everyone, if you are in the Muldoon area, be sure to come out and rock the night away with dad, performing live the 15th through the 29th! After party at my house!

It is all fun and games until...

We were having a blast on Labor day, and took some friends out boating (who knew that the Russell Yacht is 40 years old?!) below the dam at a nearby reservoir. I was driving in the middle of the river as we were making our way to the dam (the still waters at the base of the dam are great for knee and wake boarding). As I glanced at the water to my right, I noticed that the seaweed was getting thicker and seaweed generally indicates you are approaching shallows. I figured that there must be some sort of sand bar there in the middle of the river, so I'd just pull farther to the left to avoid running aground. As I steered the vessel left the river went shallow in no time flat, but the worst news was that this was no sand bar. It was the solid rock river bed. In an instant the entire motor/prop was ricocheting off of the large stones below, making a terrible racket. I shut the operation down and went back to inspect the damage. Sure enough, the prop was toast. We limped back to the docks and put the boat back on the trailer. Fortunately, there was no damage to the hull, but there would be no more boating that day. The damage is as follows:

I spent some time researching some propellers online and I think that I found a winner. I'll post some picture of the new prop when I get some time. It is really neat and it solves the problem of running aground by employing a modular design. More pictures to come.

Hours and Hours of FUN

Right off the back deck, 20 yards out, I placed my BB gun target. It is a hit at this house. When you hit the target dead on, it spins about 10 times. Brilliant way to pass the time.....

Birds of a feather flock together

Chad and his friends hooked up for the evening. It was funny to see them all hobbling around.
