I've got 99 problems, but a motor ain't one!

My 240z restoration is a slow process, but this weekend we took a quantum leap:

I found an ad on Craigslist for a 3.8L V6 out of a 2002 Camaro.  The listing included the engine, wiring harness, ECU, and transmission (a 700R4).  The deal was way too good to pass up, so I bought it and now it sits on it dolly (and eventually engine-stand when I get around to assembling it) and waits to be stripped and prepped for transplant into my Z.  Here are a couple more pictures for your amusement:

The idea now is to source a T-5 or T-56 transmission for the conversion (I just love me some 5th and 6th gears) and run a turbo set up to make between 375-400HP at the rear wheels.  From what I understand, this is very easy with this power train.  Here is a an example of what I hope to achieve (this guy was running the exact same setup in his Fiero before he sold it):

Pretty soon, I'm going to set up my own blogger dedicated to the build process so you'll be able to follow it in one place, and I'll link to it here.  I'm so excited, I haf'tuh change my diaper!

On a related note, we are coming up on Cool Desert Nights again (June  21-23) so put it on your calendars!

I like everything you are doing. Will you keep the same rear end?

The rear end in the car has 3.364 gears. There is a higher performance Nissan rear end that has 3.9 gears. It is known as the R200. I'll run the stock rear end until I break it. If that time comes, I'll put the R200 under my car.
