RUSSELL'S VEGAS BLOWOUT REUNION
Put this one in the books. It was one great weekend. Chad, Brad and Cristy closed the place down every night and hit the racks about 5:00 am. Granny gambled hard like a Wall Street stock broker. The Rockabilly Rod Reunion lived up to it's billing with the Neon Garage in the center of the NASCAR track. Chad was in his element, there were endless Mohawks walking around. Life is good!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mopar Meyhem
I'll bet this thing just screams.
I thought this tach was really slick. Great vintage touches on this car.
I have a video of this guy fired up. I'll have to post it later.
This is obligatory at a Mopar show.
Maybe this is how I'll be running in my hotrod, if I can ever find a pickup.
The Cool Desert Nights event is in June. Dad, we hope that you'll clear your calendar because this is gonna be a big'un (runs from the 24th-26th).

A big portion of the Russell family will be vacationing in SUNNY LasVegas this weekend. I know some of you will not be able to make it because of your grueling/ mundane work and family schedules. However that does not mean you can't be part of the experience/excitement. You can leave kudos and well wishing statements in the comments below. You can also expect a travel log of the events with photos on this blog when we get back. So now everyone shares the experience. Life is good !!!!!!!

The elusive Rare Find
After 3 years of (not so aggressive) searching, we found our (petrified watermelons) . We found them right off the Kingman exit on the way home from Mountain Home. We can cross this one off our list of things to find.
Approximately 15,000 years ago Lake Bonneville, a late Pleistocene lake, suddenly discharged an immense volume of water to the north. This flood is thought to be caused by capture of the Bear River which greatly increased the supply of water to the Bonneville Basin. These flood waters flowed over Red Rock Pass in southeastern Idaho and continued westward across the Snake River Plain generally following the path of the present Snake River. Although this enormous flood was first described in the literature by Gilbert in 1878, Harold Malde (1968) of the U.S. Geological Survey published the first detailed account of the effects of the flood on the Snake River Plain. The name "Bonneville Flood" first appeared in the literature in 1965 (Richmond and others, 1965).
Large rounded boulders of basalt characterize many deposits left by the flood along the Snake River Plain. H. A. Powers, who recognized that these boulders were of catastrophic origin, and Malde applied the name of Melon Gravel to the boulder deposits (Malde and Powers, 1962). They were inspired to use this term after observing a road sign in 1955 that called the boulders "petrified watermelons."

The Fun F@#%ing Family Freedom Garden
Well free for now. Who knows, in the near future we may be paying a tax on home grown produce. We planted early hoping for warmer weather. Still much to plant. Anyway if you happen to be in the area in August or September feel free to graze in the garden. It is finally done. Now it is up to mother nature who by the way is pretty consistent and predictable. Life is Good!!!

An update from Arizona, Germany.
Well, as you all know by now, the Mustang fell victim to the terrible drivers on the Arizona roads. A Mexican kid rear ended my car on my way home from school. Understandably, I was very irritated. There is minimal damage (that I can see) and fortunately, he had insurance as well. Hopefully it will be ready for Vegas.
So what do you do when somebody hits your car and you need to let off some steam? You go trade some tools for a shotgun. We had fun today.
Oh, and that whole "wagon wheel" thing? Since Blogspot won't let me put an mp3 or .wav file on its servers, I cannot get it to you on here. E-mail me at chadruss99gt@hotmail.com and I'll email you a compressed file that your PC's will recognize. I have an Apple and am using Logic Pro as the codex. I can also send you a .wav, .aiff, .ptf, .pts, .mp3, .mp4, .m4a, or PCM file.
